This apartment renovation explores a modern retro aesthetic within the constraints of an older, compact floor plan, located in a residential building built before the 1963 Skopje earthquake. The layout was carefully reorganized to create a more fluid connection between the living, dining, and kitchen areas, while keeping each zone clearly defined and functional.
The design is based on a calm neutral envelope enriched with bold color accents. Deep blue, warm yellow, and earthy tones appear through custom furniture, niches, and selected pieces, bringing character and rhythm to the space. Instead of heavy finishes or trend-driven lighting, the approach remains simple, graphic, and honest to the architecture.
Custom storage elements, integrated headboards, and built-in shelves maximize functionality without overcrowding the rooms. The result is a balanced interior that feels both playful and composed, combining retro references with a clean contemporary language.
